Chapter 3

Jack tries to kill a pig but it gets away so he goes back to the beach where Ralph and Simon are building huts. Ralph is very agrivated at this time because none of the other boys will help build thje huts and they can't get the hunts to stand up. Also Ralph is worried because Jack's hunters have not yet caught a pig and the littluns are having bad dreams. Although Ralph and Jack have their difference they push them aside and go swimming in the lagoon.

Simon goes off alone into the forest, occationally helping a littlun reach fruit from the trees. Simon keeps walking on into the forest and comes along a thick jungle glade full of flowers, birds, and butterflies. He sits down and starts taking in the scene.
