Chapter 12


After Ralph gets stabbed by Jack's spear, he finds a safe place and relaxes. He tries to figure out what to do next. He decides to get closer to Castle Rock so he can hear what is going on. He sees the twins and gets their attention. When they see him, they warn him to get far away because Jack plan on having everyone hunt for him. Ralph keeps asking questions so he will know what to expect. The twins give him a chunk of meat and he tells them he is going to hide in the thickets and to keep the tribe away from it. He eats his meat and falls asleep.

When he wakes up, he hears that the boys are hunting for him. He then hears one of the twins tell Jack that he is hiding in the thickets. They try to drop boulders on him but that does not work. Then they smoke him out by catching the bushes on fire. He takes off running away from them and decides to hide in a big bush. After a while, someone finds him. Ralph charges him and takes off running towards the beach. When he reaches the beach, he sees people in uniform. The saw the smoke and came to rescue them.

Chapter 11


Ralph, Piggy, and the twins decided to go to Jack's tribe, to get Piggy's glasses back. They decide to eat, wash up, and go with spears. Piggy, whos having a nervous breakdown without his glasses, dicides he is going to carry the conch. When they arrive and Jack gets back, Ralph asks for Piggy's glasses back. Jack refuses this and starts fighting with Ralph. The tribe ties up the twins and stays on Jack's side. Roger throws a rock and it hits Piggy, making him fall fourty feet to death. This infuriates Ralph and he charges Jack again. Jack stabs Ralph once, then Ralph runs away. He reaches the forest just in time so the scavengers can not see him anymore. Jack's tribe capture and tie up the twins. The twins still refuse to on Jack's tribe so he tourchers them.

Chapter 11

Chapter 10


Piggy and Ralph discuss Simon's death and how terrible it was. Piggy suggests that they forget it ever happened because it will not help them in the long run, so they do. Ralph, Piggy, Sam, and Eric continue to keep the fire going during the day, but decide to let it go out at night. They then go to bed in their shelters. Later in the night, someone is hallering Piggy's name. The boys get very scared. All the sudden, a terrible fight breaks out in the shelter. It seems to be very rough and the boys continually hit each other. After it was over, Ralph, Piggy, and the twins figure out that it was Jack and his tribe. Ralph looked down the beach and saw that Jack had takin Piggy's glasses, their fire.

Chapter 9


Simon decides to go tell the other boys that there is no beast. When he heads that way, he figured out that he could not walk, but stumble. In another area, Ralph and Piggy were going for a swim. Piggy states that he thinks its going to rain. They then decide to go see how Jack's tribe is going. When they get there, the boys are all dancing around and eating meat. Some meat is given to Piggy and Ralph and they chow down on it. Jack tries to get them to join his tribe but they refuse. Ralph tries to get some boys to come back with him but the will not. They begin to hear noises in the woods and Jack's tribe do their crazy dance. When the "beast" comes out of the woods, the boys beat the stab him to dealth. Later, Ralph realizes that the beast was only Simon trying to tell them the beast was not real.

Chapter 8


All the boys are now scared because they have been told the monster does exsist. Jack blows the conch for a meeting. He states that Ralph is not a leader suit for the position and asks for a vote. All the boys refuse to vote against Ralph. Jack, getting hurt by this, marches off in anger and says anyone that wants to come can. Ralph gets very upset by this but Piggy cheers him up by telling him that they can start a new signal fire on the beach. As they start building the fire, some of the boys sneak away to join Jack's group. Once again, Piggy reminds Raplph that they do not need the other boys anyway. Jack and his scavengers go on another hunt. They kill a pig and put its head on a spear to leave as a gift for the beast. Then the boys all run away. They later go to Ralph's side of the island and steal some fire. Jack tells all the other boys that they are welcome to join his big feast later that night and his tribe.

Simon slips away from the other boys to go to his secret spot. On his way there he see the pig head that was placed on a stick. This seems to fascinate him and he sits to look at the pig head, also known to be The Lord of the Flies. The pig head starts to talk to him and tells Simon that he is going to have a lot of fun with him. Simon gets very scared by this and faints.

Chapter 7


Ralph becomes discouraged because he thinks they will never make it off the island. Jack makes him feel better my reassuring him that everything is going to be okay. Later they decide to hunt for the pig while they are hunting for the beast. Ralph throws his spear at the boar, but only hits him barely. Jack tries to grab the pig but only gets hurt. He blames Ralph for this. The boys are still very excited about the chase and continue on. They begin to play a game with Roger pretending he is the boar. Forgetting theirselves, they begin to really hurt Roger and he crawls away. After realizing this Ralph presses the fact that it was just a game on them. Simon volunteers to go down the mountain and tell Piggy that they will not return until very late that night. Ralph suggest they can wait until morning to go up the mountain until Jack challenges his to go anyway. Jack, Ralph, and Roger all climb the mountain together. All three boys get a look at the monster and hurry down the mountain to tell the rest of the boys.

Chapter 6


All the boys fall asleep when nightfall comes. During this time there are war planes in the sky and there are many explosions. None of the boys see this because the twins, Sam and Eric, have fallen asleep. When the boys are sleeping a parachutist drift down the sky onto the island. He lands, his parachute stuck on rocks so when the wind blows his shadows move one the ground and his head is raised so his face shows. The boys finally wake back up and start to remake the fire and during this time they see the shadows of the figure and mistake it for a beasty. They run as fast as they can to tell Ralph. Ralph immediatly calls a meeting and they decide to set out on a hunt for the beast. Piggy and the littlun remain behind at the shelters. Ralph and Simon are the only two boys to cross the path and go into the dark cave. The other boys begin to play around.

Chapter 5


Ralph is walking along the beach thinking of many things. First of all, he is getting very tired of his hair, which has grown so long it hang down in his eyes. He is also worried about the other boys because they all seem to be out of line. He decides to call another meeting later that night.

Ralph starts talking about how the boys do not do what they are suppose to do anymore. They have been neglecting the fire, not getting drinking water. and not using the bathroom in the designated area. He does his best to show the importance of all these rules and why they have to do them. Him, Jack, and Piggy all tell the littluns that the beasties are not real and there is nothing to worry about. The littluns remain scared anyway. One littlun claims to have seen the beasty and says it comes out of the water at night. Jack immediately says there is a beast and him and his hunters leave to go hunt. Ralph, Piggy, and Simon are the only three left sitting there in silence.

Chapter 4


Soon the boys get use to the weather and what it is like on the island. They learn to judge when nightfall comes and how cool it will be. Some of the littluns are scared because they think they see strange object on the water, but Piggy tells the it is the reflection of the sun on the water. The littluns are still having bad dreams and continue to talk about the beasties. Also, the some of the older boys pick on the younger boys, Roger being the worse.

Later Jack paints his face and takes the other boys into the jugle. At this time, Ralph and Piggy see a ship go by but when they look to see the smoke, there is none. Ralph runs up the mountain with Piggy tracing behind him. When he gets there he realizes that Jack made the boys leave with him to hunt. Even though Jack and the twins killed a pig Ralph is still very mad because they had a chance to be rescued.

Chapter 3


Jack tries to kill a pig but it gets away so he goes back to the beach where Ralph and Simon are building huts. Ralph is very agrivated at this time because none of the other boys will help build thje huts and they can't get the hunts to stand up. Also Ralph is worried because Jack's hunters have not yet caught a pig and the littluns are having bad dreams. Although Ralph and Jack have their difference they push them aside and go swimming in the lagoon.

Simon goes off alone into the forest, occationally helping a littlun reach fruit from the trees. Simon keeps walking on into the forest and comes along a thick jungle glade full of flowers, birds, and butterflies. He sits down and starts taking in the scene.

Chapter 2


Ralph blows the conch to call another meeting on the beach. Ralph reminds the other boys that because there is no adults, they will have to take care of theirselves. Him and Jack decide they will have to kill pigs for meat. Ralph also decides that the conch will be used for speaking. Whoever has the conch will be the only one allowed to speak.

After talking for a while the boys become frantic because they realize they may not be rescued. Also a littlun tells the boys that he has seen snake like beasties in the forest. Ralph tells him he was only dreaming. Also, Ralph says that they will built a large signal fire for rescure. That way if a boat goes by the island, they will see the smoke and come rescue the boys. They use Piggy's specs to start the fire, and not long after they realize that a littlun is missing.

Chapter 1


In the first chapter of the book the two boys, with the names Ralph and Piggy meet each other. When they meet they start talking. During this time, they find a conch. They decide to use the conch to call all the boys on the island to come to where they are. After they call the boys with the conch, they decide that they are going try to find a way off the island. I think the book will be very good. It has a very good start as of now. Im looking forward to reading on!
